Fairfax, Va. – The George Mason University men's and women's cross country programs will compete in their third meet of the season on Friday at the historic Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
The 48th annual Paul Short run will feature 3,692 college entries dispersed over 286 teams. It will feature top ranked teams including Georgetown, Princeton and Wake Forest.
The Paul Short Run is in honor of the late Paul Short who served as Lehigh's Business Manager and Assistant Director of Athletics for 29 years. During his tenure at Lehigh, Short became an avid fan of Lehigh cross country and track and field.
Mason will compete in both the gold and open races. The men's open 8k starts at 9:30am followed by the women's at 10:15am. The men's gold 8k begins at 11:00am with the women's gold 6k finishing up the races at 11:45am.

Last season, The Mason women placed 11th out of 38 teams in the women's Gold 6k race behind a top-20 finish from junior
Annabelle Eastman. Eastman tabbed 19th out of nearly 350 runners with a personal-best time of 20:30.0.
The Mason men finished 18th as a team in the men's Gold 8k race. Junior
Jack Ikenberry placed 45th out of 357 runners, posting a personal-best time of 24:18.1.
Up next, Mason will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships hosted by Fordham University on Oct. 14. This is the Patriots last meet before the A-10 Championship.
