FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's basketball team has unveiled its 2022-23 Atlantic 10 schedule, the league office announced on Thursday.
Mason will play a home-and-home series against Revolutionary Rival George Washington as well as two games against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
The Patriots will open conference play at EagleBank Arena when they welcome Dayton on New Year's Day (Jan. 1). The Flyers were the A-10 regular season champions a season ago and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, advancing to the First Round after a First Four win over DePaul. Mason will then travel to St. Bonaventure for its' road debut on January 5.
The Green & Gold will then return to Fairfax to host Duquesne on January 8.
Next, the Patriots will road trip to La Salle (Jan. 11) and VCU (Jan. 14) for back-to-back away games. The Rams advanced to the second round of the WNIT last season after taking down Stony Brook.
After a January 16 home game vs. George Washington that will be broadcasted on CBSSN, Mason gets back on the road to Richmond on January 21.
Mason will close out January with their first two-game homestand by welcoming Rhode Island (Jan. 25) and Davidson (Jan. 28) to EagleBank Arena. Both teams earned post-season berths a year ago into the WNIT and WBI, respectively.
The Patriots then travel to Saint Louis for a midweek match-up (Feb. 1) before heading to Washington, D.C. to wrap up the Revolutionary Rivalry with George Washington on February 5.
The Patriots conclude conference play with three of five games at EagleBank Arena. First, Mason will host St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. on February 8, available digitally on NBCSports.com, as well as Massachusetts (Feb. 12) and Saint Joseph's (Feb. 22). Massachusetts earned its first-ever A-10 Women's Basketball Championship a season ago, securing a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Mason will play road contests against Loyola Chicago (Feb. 15) and Fordham, a 2022 WNIT team, (Feb. 29) during the final five-game stretch. The meeting with the Ramblers will be the first ever meeting between the two teams, as Mason welcomes Loyola Chicago to the A-10 Conference this year.
The 2023 A-10 Championship will be held March 1-5, 2023 with all 15 teams participating in a single-site format. The first round, second round and quarterfinal games will be available live on ESPN+, the Walt Disney Company's industry-leading sports streaming service. The semifinals will air on CBS Sports Network. ESPNU will air the A-10 championship final, marking the 26th straight year an ESPN network has televised the league's title game.
ESPN+ will continue to serve as the regular home for Mason Basketball. The remainder of Mason's television schedule will be announced at a later date.
