FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason freshman student-athlete
Mason Love has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the second time this year, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Love, a native of Charlottesville, Va., was the third Mason runner to finish at 17th place in the 4.9 mile event with a time of 24:58.1. He helped lead Mason's team to a second-place finish at the Navy Cross Country Invitational.
The event was hosted by the United State Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. on Sept. 16.
Love also won the award when he placed 14th overall out of 107 runners at the Spider Alumni Open with a personal-best time of 18:17.2 in the 6K course. He was the top finisher for the Mason men as they placed fifth as a team.
The Patriots are back in action on Friday, Sept. 30 at the historic Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
