Fairfax, Va. – The George Mason University golf team will travel to North Carolina to participate in the River Run Collegiate, hosted by Atlantic 10 opponent Davidson.
The two-day 54-hole tournament will be played on the 7,317-yard, par-72 River Run Country Club. The 15-team tournament will begin on Monday with 36 holes followed by the final round on Tuesday.

Samir Davidov finished runner-up at the Doc Gimmler Intercollegiate played at Bethpage State Park Red Course to lead the George Mason golf team to a third place finish (Sept. 10-11). Davidov finished with a 12-under par 198 (69-64-65), three strokes behind individual champion Jared Nelson from UConn. The three-round score by Davidov is the second best in Mason history in a 54-hole tournament since Mike Kirby recorded 16-under par at the James Madison Invitational during the 2005-06 season.
Grad student
JP Miller finished in the top 10 as well with a seven-under-par 203 (66-69-68). He finished second in par 3 scoring (2.67), along with teammate
Ryan Monastero.
History at River Run Collegiate
The Patriots finished tied for fifth place among the 16-team field at the River Run Collegiate in 2021. Mason senior J.P. Miller finished seventh overall with an even par 72 at River Run Country Club.

- Freshman Samir Davidov earns A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week for his runner-up finish at the Doc Gimmler, played at Bethpage State Park Red Course, Sept. 10-11.
- Grad student JP Miller led the Patriots with a three-round two-over-par effort (70-74-74=218) to finish t-12 overall at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate. Miller had 41 pars in the 54-hole tournament, second-best overall.
- Mason has three golfers under par after the first two tournaents. Miller leads the Patriots with a 70.17 scoring average (-.83 vs. par), followed by senior Ryan Monastero (-0.67), and Samir Davidov (-0.17).
- Two Patriots rank in the top 100 in Par 3 scoring. Monastero leads the team (2.67), followed by Miller (2.83).
- Mason welcomes three newcomers led by Samir Davidov, a top-100 national recruit in his class and #3 in Virginia. The Roanoke, native won the 70th Virginia State Golf Association Junior Stroke Play Championship in late July.
