FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's tennis senior
Rishab Sardana has been named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team, the league office announced Tuesday.
It's the second all-conference honor of Sardana's career, as the Union City, Calif., product also was named to the second team in 2020-21.
"Rishab is a hard working determined player and I'm glad the A-10 recognized that again this year," head coach Jimmy Davis said. "He has played number one singles for us for the past two years and has always given us an extra confidence boost knowing he will be in his match and give us a chance to win. This honor is well deserved!"
Sardana led the Patriots at the No. 1 singles position throughout his senior campaign and also proved critical to the doubles lineup while playing at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
In doubles, he picked up seven dual wins on the year, partnering mainly with junior
Faisal Alrebdi. He tallied a 4-3 mark at No. 2 doubles and also picked up three wins at the top spot with Alrebdi.
In singles, Alrebdi came up with clutch points throughout the season, including a win over St. Bonaventure which propelled the Patriots to a league victory. He also won singles matches against foes from Longwood, Mt. St. Mary's and Howard.
