FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason softball's
Jordan Anderson,
Marlaina Bozek,
Taylor Dadig, and
Haley Taormina earned postseason awards, the Atlantic 10 announced Tuesday afternoon.
Jordan Anderson was named to the All-Rookie team, the first career postseason award for the pitcher.
The Alliance, Ohio native led the team in saves (2) which were earned in the last six consecutive wins for the Patriots. Anderson also leads the team in ERA (2.45) and posted a record of 2-2. In her 14 appearances, the pitcher tallied 18 strikeouts on 34 hits and 16 runs.
When not in the circle, the pitcher will fill in at the designated player's spot. Anderson has accrued three hits, three runs, one double, and four RBI's in her appearances at the plate. The rookie earned her first career player of the week award on May 2
nd when she was named the conference Rookie of the Week.
Marlaina Bozek was named to the All-Conference Second Team for second base. This is the first postseason award in the sophomore's career.
The Washington, Pa. native is a team leader in several statistical categories as well as a leader in the conference. Bozek finished the 2022 season with a batting average of 0.377 in 138 at-bats. The second baseman has recorded 52 hits, eight doubles, one triple, 25 runs, and 23 RBI's.
The sophomore leads the team in walks (25) and hit by pitch (4).
Taylor Dadig was named to both the All-Conference Second Team for outfield and All-Academic team. The two recognitions are the center fielders first postseason awards of her career.
The Pittsburg, Pa. native was a force to be reckoned with in her last collegiate season for Mason. Dadig led the team and conference in several statistical batting categories including at-bats (166), hits (66), stolen bases (18), and runs (35). The center fielder also tallied five doubles, one triple, and 20 RBI's.
During her time at Mason, Dadig will leave with her name in the record book in both team and individual categories in addition to being a national leader in hits this season. The senior also recorded her 100
th career hit in the win against George Washington. Dadig earned her first and second career weekly award during her senior campaign, earning Player of the Week honors.
Dadig also notched a spot on the All-Academic team for her efforts in the classroom. The three-time Provost scholar earned her spot with her 3.97 GPA in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering.
Haley Taormina was named to the All- Conference Second Team for third base. This is the first postseason award in the junior's career.
The Chesapeake, Va. native led the team and conference in both conference only and overall statistics. Taormina was a strong offensive performer, finishing the 2022 season with a batting average of 0.308 in 120 at-bats. The third baseman also recorded 37 hits, 12 doubles, five home runs, 25 RBI's, 23 runs, and 0.533 slugging percentage.
Taormina has helped the Patriots 2022 team earn a spot in the record book for home runs in a season with 13. The junior earned her first weekly award during this season as the conference Player of the Week on April 18
th for her game winning home run in the win over GW as well as the wins over UMass and Towson.
Anderson, Bozek, Dadig, and Taormina played a significant role in the Patriots completing their season with an overall record of 24-26, 12-12 in the conference while earning a six-game win streak to end the 2022 campaign.
