PHILADELPHIA – The George Mason University men's tennis team put together a strong effort against A-10 leading Saint Joseph's (10-3, 3-0) Saturday, but the Hawks were able to pull out a 4-1 victory at home.
Mason's win came at No. 5 singles, where junior
Faisal Alrebdi earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory. He improved to 7-4 in dual singles action this season.
Elsewhere, Mason had two matches called after the clinching point where Patriots had a strong chance to pick up a win.
At No. 4, graduate student
Ryan Charles won his first set, 6-4, dropped his second and was in the third set when play concluded.
At No. 3, junior
Momin Khan won his first, 6-3, and was playing in the second set when the match ended.
The Patriots remain in Philly to battle Temple on Sunday at 11 a.m.
