CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday the 2022 Wrestling Academic All-MAC Team. Five Patriots wrestlers earned the honor.
Grad student
Alex Madrigal and red-shirt sophomore
Shawn Nonaka earned the honor for the second time.
Loranzo Rajaonarivelo,
Drew Dickson, and
Jeremy Seymour are first-time recipients.
"We are extremely proud of Alex, Loranzo, Drew, Shawn, and Jeremy for their excellence in the classroom," said Head Coach
Frank Beasley. "I applaud the efforts of what these student-athletes are achieving at a high level academically."
A total of 69 student-athletes were named to this year's MAC academic squad.
Kent State and Cleveland State led the way with nine student-athletes each on this year's team.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
