FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's lacrosse will travel to #18 Massachusetts for an afternoon tilt on Sunday, April 3. Opening draw is set for Noon at Garber Field. The Match can be viewed on ESPN+.
The Series with UMass
This will be the 8th matchup between Mason and Massachusetts, with the Minutewomen holding a 7-0 record. The last meeting was on Mar. 29, 2019, a 24-5 UMass win. The series began when the Patriots entered the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2014.
Last Time Out
The George Mason women's lacrosse team propelled out to an early lead and locked down defensively during a 15-7 victory over visiting St. Bonaventure on Friday afternoon at George Mason Stadium. After the Bonnies scored the opening goal, the Patriots raced out to a 7-1 lead after the first period. - Olivia O'Brien leads the Atlantic 10 in draw controls (66) and draw control average (6.6). The grad student earned 18 draw controls at Howard, breaking the Patriots record of 13 set by Hannah Warpinski at Duquesne, April 7, 2017. The mark is among the top 25 in NCAA history.
- Grad student Ioanna Mantzouratos leads Mason with 29 points (18/11), 12 caused turnovers, and is second on the team with 31 draw controls.

Scouting UMass
The Massachusetts Women's Lacrosse team rose to 9-2 on Friday with a convincing 20-7 victory over the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth University. This win saw the Minutewomen climb to 3-0 in the Atlantic 10, tying Richmond atop the conference. UMass leads the Atlantic 10 with 16.7 goals per game average and second in assists (7.8) per game.
