FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason softball student-athlete Haley Taormina has been named the Atlantic 10's Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Taormina helped the Patriots go 3-1 over the past week with the games against Massachusetts, Townson, and George Washington. In her four games played, Taormina went 5-for-11 (.455 BA) with five runs scored, five hits, two runs batted in, two stolen bases, three walks, two doubles, and two home runs.

The Chesapeake, Va. native went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate in the win against George Washington on Saturday, was walked twice in that game, and hit the game winning home run in extra innings. 

This is Taormina's first career conference award.

Taormina and the Patriots will trek back to Washington, D.C. for the final game of the series with George Washington on Tuesday Apr. 19 with first pitch at 3 p.m.
