Men’s Tennis Adds Two for 2022-23

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's tennis head coach Jimmy Davis has announced Monil Lotlikar and Alvaro Pedraza will join the program beginning in fall 2022.
 
"Our program is extremely excited to welcome Monil and Alvaro," Davis said. "We are making a push to become a top team in the Atlantic 10 next year, and we believe we now have the tools to see that through."
 
Lotlikar hales from Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. He stands at 5-foot-11-inches and competes for the club Tennis Advantage under coach Dhyan Uthappa. Lotlikar earned a U-16, top-15 national ranking in India and a top-30 spot in the Under-18 designation. He reached an ITF Juniors career-high ranking of 374.
 
In addition, he won a High School South-Zone Regional Championship as part of the Gear Innovative International School in 2019.
 
"Monil is an extremely talented international player who will bring a lot of experience from playing on the ITF Tour," Davis said. "He is one of the highest UTR rated incoming freshman we have ever recruited and I believe he'll give us what it takes to break through to the next level."
 
Pedraza is a 5-foot-10-inch incoming freshman from University Park, Md. A 4-star recruit who sports a top-400 ITF ranking and top-100 USA designation, he competes for Laurel Springs High School where he led his team to a national spring championship.
 
"We're ecstatic to land a player, who has recently been as high as top-50 in the nation," Davis said. "Alvaro has a versatile game that I believe will continue to improve drastically over his college career. He brings a lot of fight, energy. and style to the court. We're excited he chose to be a Patriot!"
