Patriots Host Mount St. Mary's in Mid-Week Match

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's lacrosse will host Mount St. Mary's on March 9 in a Wednesday afternoon match at George Mason Stadium. Opening draw begins at 4 p.m.

The Series
The Patriots own a 4-0 record against The Mount in the all-time series. Mason won 14-10 in the last meeting between these two teams on Feb. 26, 2020.

Last Time Out

The Patriots had its highest offensive output and best defensive effort to earn its first win of the season at Howard (3/2). In a dominating performance, Olivia O'Brien earned 18 draw controls, breaking the Patriots record of 13 set by Hannah Warpinski's at Duquesne, April 7, 2017. The 18 goals were spread out among eight teammates led by senior Phoebe Nelson with four goals. Freshman Lauren Distad added three goals, while five players each had two goals apiece. Grad student Ioanna Mantzouratos finished with a game-high six points (2/4). Melanie Hutchinson led Mason with three ground balls.

Mount women's lacrosse has a two-match win streak heading into Fairfax. In the Mount's last match, the Mountaineers held High Point to one goal in the first half as Beanie Colson scores five goals as the Mount secures an 11-6 victory over the Panthers (3/5). Zoe Hurlburt leads The Mount with 21 points, including a season-high 16 goals.
