Senior third baseman
Daniel Brooks kept the inning going when he reached on a throwing error by the shortstop, and with the ball getting past the Hawks first baseman, both Dykstra and Smith raced around to score on the miscue to give the Patriots a 4-2 lead.
The Patriots tacked on a big run in the bottom of the fourth.
Sophomore second baseman
Brett Stallings led off with a single and Trimble ripped a one-out double to the left field wall to put runners on second and third. Freshman shortstop
Carsen Pracht followed with a RBI-single to knock in the eventual game-winning run to extend the lead to 5-4.
The Patriots bullpen and defense did the rest.
In the top of the seventh with runners on first and second and one out, Pracht saved a run with a diving play to get the force at second base. On the next Hawks batter, freshman center fielder
