Hilton Head, S.C. -- The George Mason women's tennis team won its fifth straight match today, defeating Colgate, 6-1 at PTR SpringFest in Hilton Head, SC.

Mason opened the match taking the doubles point. The Patriots top team of Grace Hashiguchi and Jackie Nannery came from 2-5 down to secure the doubles point after winning 7-5 in the tiebreaker. Mason's No. 2 doubles team, Paige La and Hannah Yang, won 6-1.

Yang accounted for the second Mason point with a straight set win at #4 singles. Hashiguchi put Mason up 3-0 with her win against Emme Levenson, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. After Colgate's top player Addie Eklund defeated Paige La to get the Raiders on the board, Brianna Gibbs secured the match by winning her match in a 3rd set tiebreaker, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.

Ashley Fitz-Patrick and Savanna Crowell rounded out the scoring by defeating their Raider opponents.

Mason will be back in action tomorrow morning when they take on Slippery Rock to finish their week at PTR SpringFest.
