FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason softball team will host St. Bonaventure on Mar. 13-14 to open Atlantic 10 play. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. on both days of play.
 
A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS
Mason comes off a midweek sweep of Coppin State to improve their overall record to 8-6, good for first place in the Atlantic 10 conference.
 
In the first game of the day, sophomore Marlaina Bozek led the offensive momentum for the Patriots, going 2 for 3 at the plate. Juniors Maddy Myers and Rachel Warrens both tallied two RBIs each.

In the second game of the day, freshman Hayley Shifflett went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate after only playing the last couple of innings of the first game. The outfielder also recorded three RBI's, scored one of the Patriots nine runs, and was walked one time.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

St. Bonaventure, 2022 record: 1-8, 0-0 Atlantic 10

St. Bonaventure end their 2021 season with an overall record of 2-26, 2-22 in the conference. The Bonnies were their last series of the season to A-10 foe George Washington.

St. Bonaventure is led by sophomore Brooke Bobbey. Bobbey currently leads the team in batting percentage, recording a 0.333 mark in 27 at-bats so far this season. The outfielder leads the team in hits (9).
 
From the bullpen, the Bonnies are led by senior Ally Haskell, who has appeared and started in three games thus far in the 2022 season. Haskell has tallied an ERA of 2.80 after 15 innings pitched.
 
Mason holds the advantage over St. Bonaventure, leading the all-time series 17-2, with the last meeting between the two teams occurring in 2021. The Patriots have won the last 10 straight over the Bonnies.
