First Round Results

Fairfax, Va. – The George Mason golf team completed round one of the 54-hole Dorado Beach Collegiate today in Puerto Rico. 
 
The Patriots were led by JP Miller and Nikita Gubenko with one-over par 73s today at the par 72, 7,112-yard Sugarcane course at TPC Dorado Beach. 
 
After bogeys on holes 15 and 17 to begin the day, Miller was two-under par on the next seven holes, to get back to even through 10 holes. He birdied both par fives on the front nine.
 
With three birdies in his final nine holes today, Gubenko finished t-41 with Miller. The sophomore was two-under par on the four par threes (2.50), second-best in the 81-player field.
 
Seth Conway and Colin Slater rounded out the scoring for the Patriots, shooting 74 and 75 respectively.
 
Round two will be played Monday morning with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun. The Patriots will tee off on holes 14-17.
