The Series
Saturday's game marks the third meeting all-time between Mason and Navy in women's lacrosse. The Mids won the previous two match-ups last season, 10-4 in the season opener on February 13 in Annapolis, and 18-9, on April 14 at George Mason Stadium.

Last Time Out
In the season opener on Feb. 12, host Oregon defeated Mason, 14-11, at Papé Field in Eugene, Oregon. Junior Shannon Tuozzo made a noteworthy debut in a Mason uniform with four goals and three assists. Chloe Reed continued her presence as an offensive threat, scoring two goals and two assists in the match. Olivia O'Brien scored two goals, her first multi-goal performance.

Scouting Navy
The Navy women's lacrosse team (1-0) defeated Cal (0-1) to open the season on Feb. 11 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. The Mids used a balanced attack as 10 different student-athletes found the back of the net, including four who scored multiple goals, led by Patriot League Rookie of the Week Jaimeson Meyer, who  scored a hat trick. She took four shots, converting all three shots on goal for the hat trick. Meyer scored her first collegiate goal in the third quarter, while closing out the game with two goals in Navy's 5-1 run to put the game away. Goalkeeper Jo Torres earned the win, recording 11 saves in the game. The sophomore notched her third career double-digit save game, coming one stop shy of tying a career high in saves.

Roster Bolstered
Mason returns junior Chloe Reed to the line-up. The A-10 All-Rookie Team selection started 15 games for the Patriots as a sophomore. She closed out the season with 16 goals and two assists for a total of 18 points. The Patriots 2022 roster boasts four transfers. The talented group includes two former Hartford student-athletes: goalkeeper Emma Privitera and midfielder Shannon Tuozzo, Second-Team All-SoCon goalkeeper Meghan Deehan, and former George Washington attack Ioanna Mantzouratos.

Challenging Non-Conference Slate
The 2022 schedule includes games against opponents from six conferences outside of the nine-match Atlantic 10 schedule. The Patriots will host nine contests at George Mason Stadium and play opponents from the Pac-12, Big East, ACC, American, Patriot League and the NEC during the non-conference.

Next Up
The team will open up its nine-match home slate on Feb. 23 with a match against American at 4 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
