PHILADELPHIA – The George Mason University rowing team began its fall season on Sunday at the historic Navy Day Regatta on the Schuykill River.
 
The Patriots raced a Varsity 4+ boat and a Varsity 8+ boat during the competition.
 
Mason's Varsity 4+ boat finished a solid 22^nd out of 40 crews in the 2k head race. The Mason group crossed the finish line in a time of 14:37.31, ahead of boats from Georgetown, Temple and Delaware, among others.
 
The Patriots' Varsity 8+ boat placed 28^th in a time of 15:09.02.
 
Mason returns to action Saturday at the world famous Head of the Charles in Boston.
