FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University rowing team begins its 2022 fall campaign this Sunday at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia.
Mason will send a Varsity 8+ two Varsity 4+ boats to the City of Brotherly Love to compete in a 2k head race format.
Varsity 4+ racing will begin at 10:04 a.m. on Sunday, while Varsity 8+ action commences at 1:08 p.m.
"We are looking forward to getting our fall season started on Sunday," head coach
Joseph Richards said. "The Navy Day Regatta is a race we look forward to each year. There is always a lot of good competition and Saint Joseph's, who host the race, always put together a high quality day or racing. I think the whole team is really eager to begin working towards our goals. The team has made a lot of progress so far this fall and we're anxious to see what kind of performances we can put together on our first race day."
Mason will compete in two additional races during the fall season. The Patriots return to the prestigious Head of the Charles to race on Oct. 22 and also compete at home on Nov. 5 at the Head of the Occoquan.
