FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's cross country teams were recognized for both individual and collective achievements by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Both the men's and women's programs were named Division I All-Academic Teams. This marks the 14th straight year the men's team has received the honor and 10th consecutive year for the women.
The Mason men boasted a GPA of 3.583 while women complied a GPA of 3.674.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
In addition, junior Annabelle Eastman was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the second consecutive cross country campaign.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships..
Eastman, a Kinesiology major, competed at the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships where she earned her second consecutive top-100 finish.
She was the 2021 Atlantic 10 individual champion, and earned an automatic bid to the national meet after placing seventh at regionals.
