FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to George Washington, 5-0 in the first game and 13-7 in the night cap, on Sunday at Spuhler Field.

GAME ONE (7 INNINGS)
The Patriots (10-24, 3-12 A-10) fell behind George Washington (21-13, 10-5 A-10) in the second inning.

Back-to-back singles by sophomore right fielder Logan Leax and freshman designated hitter Eddie Micheletti off Mason graduate student starter Ryan Stoudemire put runners on the corners.  Junior catcher Anthony Frechette then grounded into a double play, with a Leax racing home from third to put the Colonials in front 1-0.

With one out in the third inning, five straight Colonials batters reached base with four singles and a walk.  Junior center fielder Cade Fergus plated in a run with an infield single, while junior second baseman Noah Levin delivered a two-run single to increase the George Washington lead to 4-0.

The Colonials tacked on a run in the top of the sixth when Levin drove in his third run of the game with a single for the 5-0 final score.

George Washington graduate student starter Jaret Edwards scattered four singles and allowed more than one Mason baserunner in an inning only once.
