FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's track and field program sits in second place after the first day of the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
 
Jack Ikenberry and Harrison Shotwell led the Patriots on Saturday, collecting a pair of A-10 individual titles.

The Atlantic 10 Championships will resume on Sunday at 9 a.m. with the men's decathlon. The running events will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's 4x100 relay. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Jack Ikenberry won the men's 10,000m with a time of 30:31.07. The Patriots scored 17 points the event after Willem Landis placed fourth (30:48.22) and Hunter Jutras seventh (31:16.19).
• Harrison Shotwell claimed the third A-10 pole vault title of his career after winning the event with a height of 4.86m.
• Colin Cannon set a new personal best in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:12.45, besting his previous record by over 25 seconds. He earned a silver medal and eight points for his performance.
• Senior Jaylen Simmons earned a silver medal in the hammer throw with a mark of 57.75m. Seniors Sid Yap (4th, 54.95m) and Benjamin Viau (6th, 53.85m) both recorded personal bests in the event.

 
SUNDAY QUALIFIERS

• Freshman Jarrett Flaker placed third overall in the 200m with a PR of 21.63 to qualify for the finals.
• Isaiah Carter will be featured in a pair of finals on Sunday. He won his heat of the 200m with a time of 21.71 and placed fifth overall in the 100m dash with a time of 10.82.
• Micah Harris took second (1:51.61) while Joseph Queen placed seventh (1:54.11) in the 800m trials to advance to Sunday's finals.
• In the 110m hurdles, Nick Corbin (14.55) and Timothy Allen (14.92) both advanced to the finals.
