FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team (13-5, 8-4 A-10) will host a four-game series against Saint Louis, starting Friday with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
 
The Patriots will continue the series with a doubleheader on Saturday (noon ET) and a single game on Sunday (11 a.m. ET) inside the George Mason Softball Complex. All games can be followed via live stats. Sunday's contest will be streamed via ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots are coming off of a four-game sweep of St. Bonaventure, outscoring the Bonnies 26-17. The victories mark a season sweep of the Bonnies, winning all eight meetings between the two schools.
 
The Green & Gold have an 8-4 conference record and are third in the A-10's central pod. Mason is currently on a five-game winning streak and are looking to improve their place in the pod.
 
A LOOK AT SAINT LOUIS (8-20, 2-6 A-10)
Saint Louis is on a two-game winning streak, defeating SIUE on Tuesday and splitting a four-game series against Dayton last weekend.
 
The Billikens sit at 2-6 in conference play and are one spot below the Patriots in the A-10's central pod (fourth).
 
Saint Louis has been outscored by their opposition 116-175 in 28 games in 2021. As a team, they are batting .264 and have a team ERA of 5.59.
 
Gabbie Kowalik leads the Billikens with a batting average of .467 which includes three triples and seven home runs for 21 RBI on the season. Kowalik has 60 total bases in 60 at-bats (1.000 SLG%).
 
HISTORY vs. THE BILLIKENS
The two programs have not played one another since the 2018 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament when Saint Louis defeated Mason by a score of 5-2 on May 9, 2018.
 
The Billikens have won eight of the last ten meetings against the Patriots. A 2-1 victory on March 30, 2018 was the last time Mason defeated Saint Louis.
 
TICKETING INFO/SAFETY PROTOCOLS
During the 2021 season, the George Mason Softball Complex will have a capacity of 50 spectators, limited to Mason team guests (Photo ID required) and students. Tickets will not be available to the public or visiting teams. Fans will be required to sit in a social-distanced marked pod of two (2) in the bleachers and have on a face covering at all times.
