WASHINGTON, D.C. – The George Mason softball team travels to our nation's capital to face George Washington in a four-game, Revolutionary Rivalry series this weekend.

The two doubleheaders will be played on the Mount Vernon Campus with both Saturday and Sunday set to begin at noon ET. All four contests will be streamed via ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots have not played in nearly two weeks. Their last series came on the road against A-10 foe Dayton on April 17-18. All four games were decided by two runs or less, but the Flyers swept the Patriots.

PATRIOT POINTS
Sophomore Annie Villalobos launched her fourth home run of the season in the second game on April 18 as she now leads the Green & Gold in homers.

Fellow sophomore Rachel Warrens is hitting a team-best .349 at the plate with eight doubles, two home runs and a triple (11 extra-base hits), including a team-high 16 RBI.

As a squad, the Patriots are hitting .261 on the season with a team on base percentage of .316. In the circle, Mason has a team ERA of 2.83 with five shutouts on the year. Opposing batters are hitting just .259 against the Green & Gold's rotation.

Outside of Fairfax, the Patriots are 5-5 on the season.

Mason is currently fourth in the A-10's central pod with a conference record of 9-11.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON (25-8, 15-1 A-10)
The Colonials continued their winning ways, improving their conference win total to 15 with a series victory over Saint Louis last weekend.

Although the Billikens handed GW their first loss of conference play this season in a 7-5 win in game one, the Colonials outscored Saint Louis 32-6 in the last three games of the weekend series.

The Colonials' Jenna Cone earned Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I National Player of the Week honors on Tuesday after hitting .467 three home runs, three doubles and 10 RBIs over the four games against Saint Louis.

Despite George Washington's success, the team has yet to clinch the top spot in the Atlantic 10 and will look to do so this weekend with the Patriots standing in their way.

HISTORY vs. THE COLONIALS
These two programs met earlier in the season when the Colonials earned a four-game sweep of the Patriots on March 20-21. George Washington outscored Mason 38-3 in those contests.

The Green & Gold have not defeated the Buff & Blue since April 17, 2019 when Mason notched a 5-3 victory over the Colonials in Washington, D.C.
