FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's lacrosse team will battle 21st-ranked Richmond on Sunday as the Patriots celebrate their eight seniors.
First draw between the Patriots and Spiders is set for 12 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+, with live stats also available via gomason.com
SENIOR DAY AT GEORGE MASON STADIUM
Prior to Sunday's match, Mason will honor its eight-member senior class for its outstanding contributions to the program. That group includes

LAST TIME OUT
Mason put together an efficient offensive effort against one of the nation's top programs Wednesday night during a battle with Navy. Mason fell, 18-9, to the Midshipmen, but more than doubled its scoring output from the season opener between the schools in February. The Patriots put 19 of their 23 shots on goal, won the draw control battle in the second half (8-7) and notched a +1 turnover margin against the talented Midshipmen squad.

HISTORY vs. RICHMOND
Sunday's contest marks the 18
th all time meeting between Mason and Richmond. The Patriots hold a 9-8 advantage. Mason and Richmond split a pair of meetings in 2019. The Patriots captured a thrilling 9-8 overtime victory in Fairfax on March 22, then fell to the Spiders 19-4 in the A-10 Tournament on April 26.
A LOOK AT THE #21 SPIDERS (7-1, 3-0)
Richmond is 7-1 to begin the season and has registered a perfect 3-0 mark in A-10 play. The Spiders are coming off a 19-13 victory over crosstown rival VCU Friday. Lindsey Frank leads the team in goals (22) and points (32) while Sarah Geiersbach has tallied a team-high 13 assists to go along with 16 goals. Arden Tierney leads the team in draw controls (42) and is third in points (26). In the cage, Megan Gianforte has posted a 10.10 goals against average and .459 save percentage in 427:47 this season.
