Mason Travels to Dayton for Pivotal Weekend Series

DAYTON, Ohio – The George Mason softball team (14-8, 9-7 A-10) faces Atlantic 10 foe Dayton in a four-game, weekend series on Saturday and Sunday.

Both doubleheaders are set to begin at noon ET inside UD Softball Stadium. Saturday's games can be followed via live stats, while Sunday's games can be watched via ESPN+($).

Mason is currently second in the A-10's central pod with a 9-7 conference record, while the Flyers are third with a 6-6 record in conference play.

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots fell to Saint Louis by a score of 5-1 last Sunday. Mason avoided the sweep but did drop the four-game series.

Sophomore Rachel Warrens went 2-for-3 on Sunday, extending the third baseman's hitting streak to 11 games.

Earlier in the weekend, Warrens notched her first collegiate home run in the win against the Billikens. Fellow infielder Haley Taormina also launched her first collegiate homer in the win on Saturday.

Despite the losses, the Patriots are still second in the A-10's central pod.

SCOUTING DAYTON (11-21, 6-6 A-10)
The Flyers are currently on an eight-game losing streak, falling to Butler on Wednesday by a score of 1-0.

In the batter's box, Megan Ward leads Dayton in batting average (.404), hits (44), runs scored (18), OBP (.444) and stolen bases (8) in 32 starts in the infield.

Abby Ehrenborg leads the Flyers with 27 RBI, including 11 home runs which is good for second in the Atlantic 10 in homers.

In the circle, Dayton has a 4.23 team ERA, allowing 3.90 earned runs per game (125 total earned runs allowed).

Addy Bullis leads the rotation with a 6-6 record and a 2.19 ERA, including five complete games and a shutout this season.

Dayton is currently third in the A-10's central pod with a 6-6 conference record.

HISTORY vs. THE FLYERS
It has been over two years (754 days) since these programs have played one another. The last time these two squads met, the Patriots defeated the Flyers by a score of 6-3 on March 24, 2019 inside the UD Softball Stadium.

Mason has won six of the last 10 games between the two programs, but Dayton outscored Mason 36-34 in those meetings.
