FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team had just five hits and was shutout by Saint Louis, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at Spuhler Field.

Ryan Stoudemire made his seventh start of the season. He retired the first 12 batters he faced in the game.
Saint Louis (10-20, 2-1 A-10) took the lead in the top of the fifth. Sophomore first baseman Cam Redding led off with a double and junior third baseman Kyle Fitzgerald followed with a single, and advanced to second on the throw.
Saint Louis junior shortstop Matt Happ and freshman Cole Smith each drove in a run with a ground out to second base to put the Billikens in front 2-0.
In the top of the sixth, Redding led off with a single and Fitzgerald hit a two-run home run over the left field fence to double the lead, 4-0.
The first two batters for the Billikens in the top of the eighth drew walks against Mason junior
Stuart Barrett. After a sacrifice bunt, Redding hit his team-leading fourth home run of the season, a three-run blast to left, to extend the advantage to 7-0.
Billikens junior starter Trevor Harris gave up just five singles in the game and the Patriots never had more than one baserunner in an inning.
For the Patriots, Stoudemire (1-6) allowed four runs on six hits and took the loss. He tied his season-high with 6.2 innings of work. Barrett surrendered three runs on two hits in 0.2 innings. Freshman

For the Billikens, Harris (3-2) scattered five singles and struck out five for the first career complete game.

For the Billikens, Redding and Fitzgerald combined to go 6-for-8 with two home runs, five RBI and five runs scored in the game.
The Patriots and Billikens play the final game of the series on Sunday, with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. at Spuhler Field.
