Fairfax, Va. – The George Mason golf team is back on the road to compete at the Donald Ross Collegiate Classic, hosted by George Mason, March 8-9.
The 13-team field will play a two-day tournament featuring three rounds at the par 72 Mid Pines Golf Club, the historic original Donald Ross course, in Southern Pines, NC.
As we celebrate Women's History month, the Patriots selected the venue that was owned by Peggy Kirk Bell from 1954-2016 when she passed at the age of 95. She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and has been awarded almost every major honor in golf. The sister course Pine Needles Golf Club will be hosting its fourth US Women's Open in 2022.

Nikita Gubenko took Rookie of the Week honors for tournaments played Feb. 19-24. Gubenko led the Patriots at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor, finishing 18th overall (220) in the field of 87 golfers, highlighted with a three-under-par 69 in the second round on the par 72, 7,084-yard Savannah Club course.
- Sophomore Hayden Miller leades the team in Greens in Regulation (GIR) (.667). In 2019-20, Hayden Miller led the team with a 72.44 stroke average, In the four fall tournaments, Miller finished with a 72.44 strokes average, a mark that is fourth-best in program history in a season.
- Junior JP Miller was second on the team in stroke average (73.56) in 2019-20, which ranks ninth-best in a season in program history.
