FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team takes on Towson for four games this weekend, with two games at home and two games on the road.
 
Mason plays at Towson on Friday, March 26 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, March 28 at 1 p.m.  The Patriots host the Tigers for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 27, with the first pitch for game one scheduled for 12 p.m. at Spuhler Field. 
 
Last time out, Mason (3-8, 0-0 A-10) allowed a season-high 19 hits and fell at Richmond, 12-5, on Sunday, March 21, at Pitt Field in Richmond, Va.
 
Mason senior first baseman Scott Morgan went 3-for-4 with his third home run of the season, two doubles and drove in three runs.   Sophomore outfielder South Trimble went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in the game against the Spiders.
 
This season, freshman outfielder Thomas Trinca is batting .391 (9-for-23) with two doubles, three RBI and four runs scored.  Trimble is hitting .385 (5-for-13) with two doubles and three runs scored. 
 
Morgan is hitting .378 (17-for-45) with three home runs, five doubles, 13 RBI and nine runs scored.  He leads the club in hits, home runs, RBI and runs scored. 
 
Among Atlantic 10 players, Morgan is second in slugging percentage (.733) tied for third in home runs (3) and doubles (5) and is tied for seventh in RBI (13).
 
Catcher/outfielder Bailey Klein has a .333 average (10-for-30) with two doubles one triple and five RBI. 
 
On the mound, junior Jared Lyons (1-1, 4.76, 22.2IP) and graduate student Ryan Stoudemire (1-3, 5.40, 16.2IP) share the team lead with four starts each.  Freshman Kieran Versaw-Barnes (0-2, 6.46, 15.1IP) has made three appearances, with two starts.
 
The Patriots are hitting .267 and have a team ERA of 7.20 through 11 games.

SCOUTING TOWSON
 
Towson has an overall record of 4-15, including a mark of 2-3 at home and 2-12 on the road.
 
Last time out, the Tigers split a four-game series against Massachusetts at Schuerholz Park in Towson, Md.
 
The Tigers swept a doubleheader on March 20, with an 8-7 win in game one and a 4-0 victory in game two.  The Minutemen swept a doubleheader on March 21, with a 3-1 win in the first game and a 10-1 triumph in the night cap. 
 
The Patriots are the fourth Atlantic 10 team that the Tigers have faced this season.  Towson downed St. Joseph's, 12-3, on March 10 at Schuerholz Park.  VCU took two-of-three from Towson, March 12-14 at The Diamond in Richmond.  The Rams won the first game, 14-9, and the series finale, 5-1, while the Tigers claimed the middle game, 8-7.
 
Freshman infielder Danny Becerra is batting .280 (21-for-75) with three doubles and five RBI.  He leads the team in hits (21) and runs scored (15).  Sophomore infielder Nick Brown is hitting .250 (13-for-52) with two doubles, five RBI and five runs scored. 
 
Graduated student outfielder Billy Godrick has a .242 average (16-for-66) with one home run, six RBI and nine runs scored.  He is second on the club with 16 hits.    
 
On the mound, juniors Nick Janowicz (1-0, 5.50, 18.0 IP), Danny Madden (0-2, 4.24, 23.1IP) and Josh Seils (2-3, 8.62, 24.0IP) have each started five games for the Tigers. 
 
Senior Austin Weber (0-0, 5.59, 9.2IP) and junior Jake Pecilunas (0-1, 3.60, 10.0IP) share the team lead with 10 appearances.
 
Towson is hitting .210 and has a team ERA of 6.40 through 19 games.
