Patriots Battle Towson Over the Weekend

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team (8-4, 4-4) travels to face Towson in a three-game weekend series beginning Saturday.

First pitch for the doubleheader on Saturday is set for noon ET, while the Sunday game is set for 1 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the action via live stats.

The Patriots currently sit in second in the Atlantic 10's Central pod with a conference record of 2-4.

LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, Mason was swept by George Washington in a four-game series. The Colonials outscored the Patriots 38-3 throughout the two days.

The losses snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Patriots. The 8-0 start for the Green & Gold was the program's best start to a season since 1983.

SCOUTING TOWSON (7-5)
The Tigers began the season 4-1, but recently dropped their last two contests (both coming against Villanova) on March 17.

Towson is familiar with A-10 programs, as the Tigers have played three Atlantic 10 programs already this season. The Tigers are 5-1 against A-10 opponents in 2021.

HISTORY vs. THE TIGERS
The Tigers are 6-4 against the Patriots in the last 10 meetings between the two programs, dating back to 2012.

Towson will look to snap a two-game losing skid against Mason, after the Patriots swept the Tigers back in the 2019 series.
