2021 Schedule

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's tennis team opens its 2021 spring slate Saturday with a home contest vs. James Madison.
 
The Patriots and Dukes will match up at Burke Racquet & Swim Club, with first serve scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
 
Mason will play a 13-match dual season this spring, capped by the A-10 Championships set for April 29-May 2. 12 of those 13 matches will be played at home, either at the BRSC or at the Mason Tennis Courts.
 
The Patriots were putting together what could've become one of the best seasons in program history in 2020 before the campaign was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mason graduates two of the most prolific student-athletes in program history from that team (Edward Ayers, Jakob Nielsen), but welcomes back a bevy of talent for this season's upcoming campaign.
 
The Patriots will be lead by a strong core of talent including a pair of brothers. Junior Rishab Sardana returns to the lineup after serving as a staple at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions in 2020. He went 4-3 in dual singles, including a 3-2 mark from the No. 3 spot.
 
Sophomore Rithik Sardana posted a 6-3 dual record last season while commanding the No. 4 singles position. He also played with Ryan Charles for much of the season at second doubles.
 
Charles, now a senior, will look to instill a strong leadership presence this season. The 2020-21 Mason Student-Athlete Advisory Council president, Charles has improved each season in a Green & Gold uniform. He has served as a doubles stalwart for much of his career and will look to expand that talent into a regular singles position this season.
 
In addition to that quarter, sophomores Momin Khan, Herman Jentoft and Rami Alkhafaji will aim to take strides in their second campaign, while junior Michael Pollatos and graduate student Luke Maxwell round out the Patriot lineup.
