FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University women's lacrosse head coach
Kara Mupo has announced the program's 2022 schedule, which includes games against opponents from six conferences outside of the nine-match Atlantic 10 schedule.
The Patriots will host nine contests at George Mason Stadium and play opponents from the Pac-12, Big East, ACC, American, Patriot League and the NEC during the non-conference.
Mason opens the season with two-straight road contests, beginning on the West Coast at Oregon on Sat., Feb. 12 . The team will play five days later at the Naval Academy on Thur., Feb. 17. The match is the season-opener for the Mids who finished 8-4 in 2021.
The Patriots will return home to play four of its next five matches, beginning with the home opener against American on Wed., Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. Mason will play East Carolina on Fri., Feb. 25, 2021 NEC Champions Mount St. Mary's on Wed. March 9, and Georgetown on March 16 at 6 p.m. The Hoyas finished the 2021 season with an appearance in the Big East conference tournament semi-finals. The lone match away from George Mason Stadium in that stretch is at Howard on Wed., March 2 at 4 p.m.
From there, A-10 play begins with two road games. Mason opens at VCU on March 25 and then travels to Davidson for a match March 27.
Mason will return to George Mason Stadium for an A-10 match against St. Bonaventure on Friday, April 1 at 1 p.m. before traveling to play 2021 A-10 Champion UMass on Sun., April 3.
St. Joseph's comes to Fairfax on April 8, while George Washington makes its trek across the Potomac River for the Revolutionary Rival match on April 10 at Noon.
After a non-conference contest against the ACC's newest women's lacrosse addition Pittsburgh Panthers, Mason wraps up A-10 action with an April 23 home game against the reigning conference regular-season champion Richmond Spiders at 1 p.m.
The A-10 Tournament will be held beginning April 28 at UMass.
