BRIDGEPORT, WVa. – The Patriots finished eighth overall in the Mountaineer Invitational played at the 7,308-yard, Par 72 Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, WVa. The team bested last season's 11th place finish at the tournament hosted by West Virginia University.
West Virginia's Mark Goetz earned medalist honors for the second straight year at the Mountaineer Invitational. He scorched the course with a final round 9-under par 63. It was a battle for top team honors. NC State (855) edged the Mountaineers by one stroke to win the tournament. Penn State (857) came in third place one-stroke back of WVU.
The Green and Gold were only three strokes behind both Maryland and Eastern Michigan who tied for sixth place. Grad student
Will Halamandaris led the Patriots from start to finish with a one-under par 215(70-75-70). Halamandaris finished tied for 11th overall in the 12-team field.

- Grad student Will Halamandaris finished in the Top 5 in birdies with 14 overall. He carded five birdies in both the first round and final round posting two-under par 70 in each. He made four birdies in the second round, finishing one-over par.
- Colin Slater scored an even-par 72 in the final round, his best of the three-round tournament.
