RICHMOND, Va. – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams wrapped up competition at the Richmond Duals on Saturday.

The men's team dropped its two-day dual against Davidson, 216-194. The Mason women's team defeated East Carolina on Friday, but fell to Richmond, 159-125, on Saturday.

On the women's side, the Patriots won seven events against the Spiders.

Freshman
Ali Tyler had another big day, taking the top spot in both the 100-yard freestyle (51.88) and the 100-yard backstroke (56.64).

Senior
Jacquee Clabeaux won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.28) and placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.31).

Sophomore
Abigail Murtaugh swam to a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.41), with senior
Laura Hodge placing third (2:11.54).

In the 100-yard butterfly, Murtaugh finished third (58.71) and Hodge was fourth (59.78).

Freshman
Anna Whelan claimed the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.95), while junior
Lauren Ashton placed third (2:11.92). Whelan also took second in the 400-yard IM (4:32.25) and was third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.26).

Freshman
Sydney Branch placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:33.81) and finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.12).Â

The Patriots swept the relay events.Â

The team of freshmen
Emma DeJong and
Shannon Judge, Clabeaux, and Tyler took the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:35.70). The group of Clabeaux, DeJong, Murtaugh and Tyler won the 400-yard medley relay (3:51.98).

Freshman diver
Emma McDonald placed second in both the one-meter (151.25) and three-meter (172.60).

On the men's side, the Patriots concluded their two-day dual against Davidson.

Junior
Thomas Chapman won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.76), with freshman
Justin Lee third in the event (2:10.34).

The Patriots took three of the top four spots in the 100-yard freestyle, with Freshman
Alexander Franklin second (47.29), freshman
Zane Roberts third (48.09) and senior
Will Rastatter fourth (48.14).

Sophomore
Dylan Nguyen placed third in the 200-yard backstroke (1:55.84), with freshman
Joe Durocher fourth (1:58.59).

In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the combination of
Anthony Nguyen, Chapman, Rastatter and Roberts took second (3:08.34). The group of juniors
Josh Fletcher and
Walter Turlington, sophomore
Miles West, and freshman
Gabriel Fouts placed third (3:14.33).

The Patriots are back in action when they compete in the A-10 Classic Oct. 30-31 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
