FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason freshman Ali Tyler was named Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Rookie Performer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Tyler, a native of Cheshire, Conn., won her first two collegiate individual events against Delaware on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Rawstrom Natatorium in Newark, Del.

Tyler took the top spot in both the 100-yard backstroke (57.63) and 100-yard butterfly (58.29), placing her as the top A-10 freshman in the backstroke and fourth in the conference in the butterfly.

Competing in her first dual meet with the Patriots, Tyler also claimed second place in the 100-yard freestyle (52.58) and helped the 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place finish (1:46.92).
