FAIRFAX, Va. – Four members of the George Mason men's track and field team were selected to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Teams, the organization announced Monday.

Freshman Isaiah Carter, a native of Virginia Beach, Va., was named VaSID Track Rookie of the Year. The Atlantic 10 Men's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer earned a gold medal in the 200m with a PR of 21.74 at the A-10 Indoor Championship. He was also selected to the A-10 All-Rookie Team in the 200m.

Junior Jaylen Simmons, from Waynesboro, Va., was selected VaSID First Team All-State. The A-10 Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer broke the school, meet and facility records in the shot put with a PR of 19.33m at the A-10 Indoor Championships. He also added a bronze medal in the weight throw with a personal record mark of 19.02m.

Junior Harrison Shotwell and sophomore Cason Gardner earned VaSID Second Team All-State honors.

Shotwell, a native of Dumfries, Va., notched a gold medal in the pole vault at the A-10 Indoor Championships with a personal record mark of 4.97m. He was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.

Gardner, from Mechanicsville, Va., won a gold medal in the heptathlon with 4,974 points at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. He placed first in the 60m dash, 1000m and high jump en route to a first-place finish in the event.

Gardner set a personal record in the heptathlon with 5,132 points at the Patriot Games on Jan. 24-25.
