GENEVA, Ohio – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the third day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Championships, combining to win three individual A-10 titles, on Friday at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
The Mason men's team remains in first place with 426 points, while the women's team is in eighth place with 163 points.
On the men's side, the Patriots hold a 35-point lead entering the final day of competition, with George Washington second (391) and St. Bonaventure third (350.5). La Salle is in fourth place (292.5), followed by Davidson (268), Massachusetts (220.5), Saint Louis (203) and Fordham (165.5).
Mason freshman
Luke DeVore won the Atlantic 10 Championship in the 100-yard butterfly (47.82), with junior
Andres Alarcon finishing eighth (49.41). In the Consolation Final of the event, junior
Dylan Peck was second (49.09) and classmate
Devin Truong took third (49.13).
In the 100-yard backstroke, the Patriots took two of the three spots on the podium.
Senior
Logan Eubanks claimed the gold, winning the A-10 title with a NCAA B qualifying time (46.65), while senior
Ryan Donnelly won the bronze (47.86). Freshman
Josh Fletcher finished eighth (49.87).
Senior
Jake Ball made the podium with a bronze medal performance in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.33). Senior
Christopher Stankiewicz placed second in the Consolation Final of the event (55.50).
Mason freshman
Thomas Chapman placed fifth in the Championship Final of the 400-yard IM (3:56.51), while classmate
Sammy Lucht was third in the Consolation Final of the event (3:59.75).
Junior
Drake Moretz finished seventh in the Championship Final of the 200-yard freestyle (1:38.42), with senior
Attila Kiss eighth (1:39.28). Sophomore
Nick Ashton was second in the Consolation Final of the event (1:38.79).
On the women's side, George Washington remained in first place (424), with Duquesne second (390) and Fordham third (374). Richmond is fourth (318.5), followed by Davidson (303), St. Bonaventure (202.5), Massachusetts (175), Mason (163), La Salle (135), Saint Louis (99) and Rhode Island (62).
Mason sophomore
Jacquee Clabeaux won the gold in the 100-yard breaststroke, claiming the A-10 title with a NCAA B qualifying time (1:00.31).Â
Junior
Shannon Glesing was third in the Consolation Final of the event (1:03.62).
Junior
Marina Toone earned her second medal of the week, winning the silver in the three-meter dive. She posted a preliminary score of 301.60 and a finals score of 293.00. She also won the silver medal in the one-meter event.
Freshman
Leah Riley took the top spot in the Consolation Final of the 100-yard butterfly (55.41), sophomore
Laura Hodge placed fourth in the Consolation Final of the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.59) and sophomore
Hannah Milikich was eighth in the Consolation Final of the 100-yard backstroke.
The Atlantic 10 Championships conclude on Saturday with five events on the schedule, the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 1,650 freestyle. Preliminaries are scheduled for 10 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.Â
