FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team begins a three-game series against Florida International on Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. at FIU Baseball Stadium in Miami, Fla.
Mason (0-2) dropped its first two games of the season at Lexington County Stadium in Lexington, S.C. The Patriots fell to North Carolina A&T, 12-2, in the season opener before falling to Butler, 15-8, in the second game of the weekend.

Mason faced FIU for the first time in program history March 11-12, 2018 at FIU Baseball Stadium.
The Golden Panthers won both games of a doubleheader, 16-0 and 14-3, to start the series. The Patriots scored seven runs over the final three innings, including five in the ninth, in a 12-8 comeback win in the final game of the three-game set.

SCOUTING FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
Florida International finished the 2019 season with an overall record of 23-32, including a mark of 12-18 against Conference USA opponents. The Golden Panthers went 13-15 at home and 9-16 on the road.
The Golden Panthers have started the 2020 campaign with a 4-0 record. FIU swept a three-game series against Fordham to open the season. The Golden Panthers won the first game, 20-7, took game two, 8-0 in seven innings, and completed the sweep with an 18-2 victory in the final game of the series.
FIU kept its unbeaten record intact on Tuesday with a 6-1 win over Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Senior outfielder Juan Teixeira went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, sophomore first baseman Alec Sanchez had a team-high three hits and scored a run, while junior outfielder Justin Farmer tripled and drove in a pair of runs.
The Golden Panthers stole five bases in the game against the Wildcats. FIU is 12-for-14 in stolen base attempts in four games.
