FAIRFAX, Va. – A quartet of George Mason men's and women's track and field student-athletes earned weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 on Tuesday.
 
Junior Jaylen Simmons and freshman Vilde Våge Henriksen each earned their third Atlantic 10 weekly honor of the season. Simmons was named A-10 Men's Field Performer of the Week while Våge Henriksen notched A-10 Women's Rookie of the Week.
 
Redshirt sophomore Grace Gaudin picked up her second A-10 weekly honor of the season, earning Women's Field Performer of the Week. Freshman Isaiah Carter was named A-10 Men's Rookie of the Week, the first weekly honor of his career.
 
Simmons earned first place in the shot put with a personal record toss of 18.36m at the VMI Indoor Classic. The junior from Waynesboro, Va., broke his own facility record in the event, which he set earlier this season on Jan. 17.

His record toss of 18.36 meters ranks first in the A-10 and 42nd in the NCAA. It also marked the first time he broke the 60' mark.
 
Våge Henriksen finished second in the 1000m run with a time of 2:49.77. Her time ranks second in the conference and fourth in Mason indoor history.
 
Gaudin notched first in the weight throw with a mark of 18.87m. Her mark of 18.87 would rank second in the A-10, only trailing her own personal best of 19.65.
 
Carter, a native of Virginia Beach, Va., took on a huge work load at the VMI Indoor Classic, placing in every event he participated in. 
 
He finished fourth in the 200m (21.80), seventh in the 60m dash (7.03) and fourth in the 4x400 relay (3:18.88). He also added a personal-best mark of 7.01m in the long jump, registering fifth in the event.
 
Up next, the Patriots compete at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships on Feb. 29-March 1 in Kingston, R.I.
