Mason Travels to Boston for Two Meets on Friday, Saturday

FAIRFAX, Va. –
 The George Mason men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Boston for a pair of meets this weekend, beginning with the Crimson Elite Invite, hosted by Harvard, on Friday at the Gordon Indoor Track.
 
On Friday, the field events begin at 2 p.m. with the women's weight throw and women's triple jump. The running events start at 3:30 p.m. with the women's 60m hurdles. The meet will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+
 
The field features Harvard, UAlbany, Boston, Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville, University of Ottawa, Princeton, RPI, Syracuse, Alabama Birmingham, UMass Lowell, South Florida and Yale.
 
On Saturday, the Patriots will participate in the Scarlet & White Invitational at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center. The meet will be live streamed on Flo Track.
 
The Scarlet & White Invitational will feature 18 teams, including Boston College, Florida International and Syracuse.
 
The field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the men's pole vault while the running events take off at 12:30 p.m. with the women's 60m hurdles.
 
Heading into the weekend, the Mason men ranked 12th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) southeast regional rankings. The Patriots are ahead of 27 teams, including A-10 foes Davidson (23rd) and VCU (24th).
 
The Mason women came in at 17th in the southeast regional poll, placing ahead of VCU (21st), Davidson (32nd) and Richmond (41st).
 
On Tuesday, thrower Grace Gaudin was named A-10 Women's Field Performer of the Week. The redshirt sophomore posted personal-best tosses in the weight throw (19.65) and shot put (13.07) for a pair of first place finishes at the Patriot Games.
 
Her mark of 19.65m in the weight throw ranks first in the A-10, second in program history and 36th in the NCAA.
 
Up next, the Patriots will head back to Staten Island, N.Y., for the UAlbany Winter Classic on Feb. 7-8.
