WOMEN'S and MEN'S SWIMMING and DIVING vs. UMBC

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams are in action for the final home meet of the season, hosting UMBC on Saturday at the Jim McKay Natatorium in Fairfax, Va. The first event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
The Mason men's team has an overall dual record of 5-0, while the women's team has a record of 1-6 on the season.
The Patriots men's team has recorded wins over Delaware (Oct. 5), Davidson at the Richmond Duals (Oct. 18-19) and posted victories over La Salle, Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure at the A-10 Classic on Oct. 27 in Geneva, Ohio.
The Mason women's team defeated La Salle 191-149 at the A-10 Classic.
Last time out, both the Patriots men's and women's team placed fourth at the Patriot Invitational held at the Jim McKay Natatorium (Nov. 21-23).
Freshman
Jacquee Clabeaux won gold in both the 200-yard IM (2:00.69) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.56). She took silver in the 100-yard butterfly (55.92).
Sophomore
Megan Cummins claimed the bronze in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:08.98).

Senior diver
Gerald Hodges, Jr. won the Patriot Invitational championship in the three-meter event with a score of 319.80. He claimed the bronze in the one-meter event with a score of 290.40.
Senior
Attila Kiss made the podium with a third-place finish in the 400-yard IM (4:00.32) and was fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:49.68).

SCOUTING UMBC
The Retrievers women's team has an overall record of 2-4, with wins over VMI (139-101) and Howard (134-120). The men's team has an overall mark of 4-2, with victories over Delaware (184-108), Johns Hopkins (153-129), VMI (158-118) and Howard (135-129).
UMBC competed in the Patriot Invitational in November, with the men's team placing fifth and the women's team seventh.
Junior Kai Wisner won the 1,650-yard freestyle by nearly seven seconds with a time of 15:33.79 at the Patriot Invitational. Senior Ilia Rattsev set a meet record in the 100-yard butterfly in the Saturday preliminaries with a time of 44.70 and won bronze in the finals of the event.
Last time out, the Retrievers men's and women's teams combined to set four new pool records and defeated Howard on Jan. 4 at the UMBC Aquatic Complex. The women's team finished first in every event for a 134-120 victory, while the men's team won 12 of 14 swimming events to earn a 135-129 win.
