Fairfax, Va. – Wrestling Insider Magazine (WIN) has released its 2019-20 preseason rankings, and the Patriots' Alex Madrigal is featured on the top-20 list.  
 
The redshirt senior, who placed eighth at the U23 Freestyle Nationals this summer at 65 Kg, is ranked 18^thin the country in his 141-pound weight class.
 
"Alex has stayed focused and worked hard in his return to the mat after surgery," said Beasley. "He has emerged as a leader in our program and we are excited about his development."
 
A native of Chicago, Madrigal sat out the 2018-19 season after having offseason surgery. He transferred to Mason after two seasons at Old Dominion where he was a two-time NCAA qualifier (133/141) while competing for the Monarchs.  
 
The Patriots officially kick off the 2019-20 season on Sunday, November 3 at the Hokie Open in Blacksburg, Va.
