George Mason Athletics' Director of Advancement
Lauren Bird has announced the hiring of Greg Kennedy as the Director of the Annual Fund and Lindsey Campbell as Associate Director of Development for the Patriot Club. They will join current staff member
LeeAnn Bushar, who has been promoted to Assistant Director of Development.
The candidates are very familiar with George Mason. Kennedy joined Mason Athletics following the 2006 NCAA Final Four run as the director of marketing for the Patriots. A 2009 graduate of George Mason, Campbell began her collegiate athletics career in ticket operations before working three years in development for the university's College of Education and Human Development.
"I'm excited about this Patriot Club team," Bird said. "The experience they each bring and established relationships that this staff already has within the Mason community will be invaluable as we continue to grow our base of support and engagement around our athletic programs."
Greg Kennedy, Director of the Annual Fund
As the director of the annual fund for the Patriot Club, Kennedy will be tasked with overseeing the annual fund and working to further engage our alumni, fans, and friends to increase support for athletic scholarships and our specific sports programs.
Kennedy joins the Patriot Club after 13 years as a member of the Patriots' marketing department, initially as the director of marketing. He spent the past eight years as the director of business development, working closely with Mason's corporate sponsorship program and its third-party multimedia rights holder Learfield/IMG College.
A 1999 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, Kennedy served as the assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions for his alma mater for three years.
He graduated with a master's degree in athletic administration from SUNY Brockport.
Lindsey Campbell, Associate Director of the Development
Lindsey joins the Patriot Club as the Associate Director of Development, focusing on engaging major gift prospects. She begins on October 10.
The Pittsburgh, Pa. native, brings 10 years of revenue development experience in higher education and intercollegiate athletics to the Patriots. She makes her return to Mason Athletics after three years working in development for the university. In her three years, the College of Education and Human Development has experienced substantial growth in both the annual fund and major gifts, including a 186 percent increase in dollars raised.
The 2009 Mason graduate began her career in tickets for the MLB's Pittsburgh Pirates before returning to her alma mater as Mason Athletics group sales and ticket manager. She served as the ticket sales manager for the Patriots for five years.
In addition to her undergraduate degree, Campbell earned her master's degree in sports and recreation studies in 2012 and is currently working on her Ph. D. in higher education.
LeeAnn Bushar, Assistant Director of Development
LeeAnn has been on staff with the Patriot Club since 2013, serving as an intern before becoming a full-time staff member in 2014 as events and stewardship coordinator.
In her new role, Bushar will focus on alumni-athlete engagement, donor stewardship and fundraising events.
A Lawrence, New Jersey native, LeeAnn earned a bachelor's degree in tourism and events management at George Mason.
