FAIRFAX, Va. –
George Mason University women's tennis student-athletes Christine McCarthy and Hannah Yang have been honored as ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athletes, while the Patriots as a whole have been awarded with an All-Academic Team designation.

It marks the second-consecutive year in which McCarthy and Yang have been recognized with the individual academic achievement award.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

This is also the second-straight season in which the Patriots combined to win the team award. To qualify, a program must post at least a 3.2 GPA collectively to earn the honor. Mason posted a 3.3 GPA as a unit in 2018-19.
