FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's tennis head coach Jimmy Davis has announced the signing of five student-athletes for the Patriots' 2019-20 incoming class.

The talented quintet includes Rami Alkhafaji (Duncansville, Pa.), Faisal Alrebdi (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), Herman Jentoft (Oslo, Norway), Momin Khan (Ashburn, Va.) and Rithik Sardana (Union City, Calif.).

"We're really excited for the 2019 class to join us," Davis said. "This is one of the most talented and well decorated classes we've ever had join the Mason program and we're confident they're going to make us better on and off the court. This group brings a unique strength from competing not only at a high level on the Davis Cup and ITF circuit, but also boasting talent in the top-150 players in the United States and top-10 players in Virginia. We're excited to continue our momentum from last season, and I know these guys will make a large impact in a positive way while helping us continue to improve and become more competitive within the Atlantic 10."

Alkhafaji – the brother of outgoing senior Amir Alkhafaji – hails from Duncansville, Pa., where he attended Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. A four-time MVP selection for the Golden Tigers while amassing an 80-5 record in his tennis career. He has competed in the National Clay Court Championships and the International Spring Championships, while earning berths in a pair of ITF Pro Circuit events in Florida. In addition, he's competed in three ITF Junior events in College Park, Md.

Alrebdi will come to Mason from Saudi Arabia, where he has emerged as one of the most talented players in his part of the world. While attending Riyadh Najd School, Alrebdi held a Universal Tennis Ranking of 12 while competing in the prestigious Davis Cup for his native country over the past four years. A three-time ITF Champion, Alrebdi will look to make an immediate impact for Mason this fall while holding an ITF ranking as high as 689. He holds victories over multiple ITF players with rankings in the world top-350.

Jentoft also will bring an international flair to the Patriots, as the Norwegian comes to Fairfax with a host of international experience. Sporting a 12.5 UTR, Jentoft was ranked as the No. 1 player for his age group in Norway while increasing his ITF ranking to 753. He attended Wang High School in Norway and played his club tennis for Heming Tennis.

Khan is a native of Ashburn, Va., where he attended Rock Ridge High School. A two-time All-Loudon County Conference selection, Khan earned his team's MVP award and was DMV honorable mention on two occasions. A 4-star recruit who ranks as a top-10 player in Virginia, Khan served as team captain and led his team to a state title and runner-up finish during his career with the Phoenix.

Sardana will travel cross-country to compete at Mason from Union City, Calif., where he attended James Logan High School. While with the Colts, Sardana earned four letters while serving as a two-year captain. He did not lose a league match throughout his career with the Colts and sported the highest GPA within his team. He earned the team's MVP award in 2017.

"Mason was voted as the most diverse university in Virginia in 2018, and our athletics programs take pride in this," Davis said. "We strongly believe that having student-athletes join us from all over the world strengthens our bond and stresses inclusivity of different mindsets and work ethics. It's been amazing to see how a group of individuals can come together as a family under a common goal. In 2019 our roster will proudly have players from Norway, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Canada, and the United States."
