FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University women's tennis senior Sydney Green and sophomore Brianna Gibbs have been named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team, the league office announced Monday.
 
Green garners the accolade for the second-straight season, while Gibbs earns All-A-10 honors for the first time in her career.
 
It's the first time in school history that Mason has featured two student-athletes on the All-Atlantic 10 teams.
 
Green posted a 16-11 singles record as a senior, including a 12-10 dual mark from the No. 1 position. She also went 2-2 in A-10 play, including a win over A-10 First Teamer Amanda Nava. Green also played No. 1 doubles, where she partnered with Gibbs to pick up 14 overall victories and 10 dual wins.  
 
"This honor is a culmination of an outstanding career for Sydney," head coach Steve Curtis said. "It is well deserved. Sydney has been an excellent ambassador for Mason throughout her four years in Fairfax."
 
Gibbs anchored the No. 2 singles position for Mason throughout the 2018-19 campaign, picked up seven victories and went 3-1 in tournament action. She played exceptionally well in doubles, where she partnered with Green at the No. 1 spot. In addition to their strong record together, Gibbs and Green put together a strong run at the fall ITA Regional.  They earned a doubles win over Penn State's Gabby O'Gorman and Chelsea Sawyer, then nearly knocked off the nation's No. 22-ranked doubles tandem from Maryland in the Round of 32.
 
"Bri was a major contributor in doubles for us this season," Curtis said. "I'm excited she has earned this honor as a sophomore and I hope this is the first of many more accolades to come in her Mason career."
