Mason Duo Earns Atlantic 10 Weekly Honors

FAIRFAX, Va. - A duo of George Mason University track and field athletes notched weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 over the weekend.

Senior sprinter Ashley Lewis was named the A-10 Women's Track Performer of the Week, while freshman Siobhra O'Flaherty earned A-10 Women's Rookie of the Week.

Lewis earned a pair of sixth place finishes at the Sun Angel Track Classic. The senior ran well in the premiere 800-meter run (2:05.08) and was part of the 4x400 meter relay (3:42.49).

Lewis already ranked third all-time at Mason in the 800-meter run, but improved on that mark over the weekend. Her time also ranks first in the Atlantic 10.

Over in Williamsburg, O'Flaherty earned second place in the 10,000-meter run (35:13.33) at the Colonial Relays. That time ranks fourth all-time at Mason.

The Patriots return to Fairfax for their final home meet of the season. The Mason Spring Invitational will be held on Saturday, April 13 beginning at 10 a.m. in Fairfax, Va. at George Mason Stadium.
