FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team plays a pair of midweek games, hosting Longwood on Tuesday at Spuhler Field before traveling to face on Towson on Wednesday at Schuerholz Field. The first pitch for both games is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Mason (12-18, 1-8 A-10) dropped two-of-three in its Atlantic 10 series against George Washington over the weekend at Sphuler Field.
The Patriots and Colonials split a doubleheader on Saturday, with George Washington claiming a 16-7 win in game one and Mason earning a 13-2 victory in the nightcap. The Colonials won the series with an 8-5 victory on Sunday.
Mason junior catcher
Logan Driscoll leads the team in average (.343), hits (36), home runs (8), RBI (25) and runs scored (28) in 29 games played.
Senior outfielder
Brady Acker is second on the club in average (.333) and doubles in 16 games played.
Senior infielder
Ryan Tassone is third on the team with a .297 average and is sixth on the club in hits (19) in 16 games played.
Sophomore outfielder
Cam Reckling is batting .296 and is second on the team in hits (34), doubles (7) and runs scored (25) in 29 games played.
Senior first baseman
Tim Quinn is hitting .274 and is second on the team in home runs (3) and RBI (20) in 30 games played. He is tied for the team lead in walks with Driscoll (24).
The Patriots have a team batting average of .256 and a team ERA of 7.23 on the season.
SCOUTING REPORT
Longwood has an overall record of 9-22, including a mark of 4-8 against Big South opponents. The Lancers are 7-12 at home and 2-10 on the road this season.
Longwood snapped a 10-game skid by sweeping a doubleheader against Charleston Southern. Sophomore outfielder Jack Schnell had four hits and drove in four runs in the two games and went 5-for-8 in the series.
The Lancers will play their next nine games on the road beginning with the matchup against the Patriots.
Freshman infielder Hunter Gilliam has started all 31 games and is batting .313 and leads the team in hits (36) and RBI (19). He is tied for the team lead in home runs (4) and runs scored (18).
Junior catcher Carlos Garrido is hitting .282 and is second on the team in doubles (5), third in RBI (14) and fourth in hits (24).
Longwood head coach Ryan Mau is one win shy of 100 career head coaching victories, all at Longwood.

Patrick Halligan made his NCAA debut and tossed five innings to earn his first collegiate win. He allowed three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and no walks. Three Mason relievers held the Lancers off the scoreboard over the last four innings.
The Patriots downed the Tigers, 6-2, on March 27 at Spuhler Field.

Bailey Klein went 3-for-4 and drove in a run, sophomore
Daniel Brooks had two hits and scored two runs and Quinn hit a solo home run in the game. Halligan earned his second win of the season, allowing two runs on six hits in 5.1 innings in the outing.
