FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team will finish out the 2019 season at home, beginning with its final nonconference game of the season against Georgetown on Wednesday. The Patriots (19-23, 7-10 A-10) welcome the Hoyas (11-31, 4-9 BIG EAST) to the George Mason Softball Complex for a single game at 4 p.m. Students with valid Mason ID will receive free wooden bats in part of Mason's Game of the Week.
The Patriots resume conference play with a three-game series against St. Bonaventure April 27-28. The series begins with a doubleheader at noon Saturday, followed by a single game at noon Sunday. Mason hosts UMass on May 4-5 for its final A-10 series of the season.
All games this week will be streamed on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
Mason earned its first Atlantic 10 series win of the season after taking two-of-three from La Salle. The Patriots split Saturday's doubleheader to move to 19-23 overall and 7-10 in conference play. Sophomore
Haellie Gordon guided Mason to victory in game two of the twin bill. She allowed only two hits in the complete-game shutout win. Jess Curbiera added two hits and two RBIs in the rubber match.
MARINA MAGIC

Marina Vitalich was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for her performances during the week of April 15-21. In a 1-0 win over La Salle, she tossed a complete-game, one hitter, striking out a season-high 10 batters. She also picked up her first save of the season in a 5-3 win over George Washington. In the final inning, she struck out two of the three batters she faced.
WALK-OFF WARRIORS
The Patriots earned their sixth walk-off victory of the season with a 1-0 win over La Salle on April 18. After loading the bases in the bottom of the seventh,
Meghan Graham singled up the middle to score
Taylor Dadig.
SCOUTING THE HOYAS
Georgetown: 11-31, 4-9 BIG EAST
Georgetown was recently swept in a three-game series against Villanova. The Hoyas fell to the Wildcats 10-2, 9-6 and 8-0. Prior to that, GU picked up two wins against Butler.
The Hoyas are led by Noelle Holiday who leads the team with a batting average of .347. She also has nine doubles, eight home runs and 32 RBIs on the season. London Diller has seen the most action in the circle through 27 appearances for a record of 4-11. Anna Brooks Pacha leads the pitching staff with a team-best 5.74 ERA.
The Patriots lead the all-time series 9-7. Last season, Mason picked up a 4-3 extra-inning win over the Hoyas on April 11 in Fairfax, Va.
