FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team begins a six-game homestand, hosting Maryland in a midweek, non-conference game on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. at Spuhler Field.
Last time out, Mason (13-21, 1-8 A-10) fell at UNC Greensboro, 8-0, on Sunday at UNCG Baseball Stadium in Greensboro, N.C.
Mason junior catcher
Logan Driscoll leads the team in average (.339), hits (41), home runs (8), RBI (26), walks (26) and runs scored (29) in 33 games played. He has at least one hit in 11 of his last 14 games (17-for-48).
Senior outfielder
Brady Acker is second on the team in average (.290) and tied for second on the squad in doubles (8) in 20 games played. He has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games (12-for-39).
Sophomore outfielder

Maryland will host James Madison on Tuesday at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium in College Park, Md.
The Terrapins took two-of-three at Northwestern last weekend, winning the first game of the series, 13-8 and the final game, 12-10. The Wildcats won the middle game, 13-7.
Freshman infielder Maxwell Costes leads the Terrapins in average (.287) and is second in home runs (6) and RBI (30). He is third on the team in hits (37) and doubles (11).
Senior infielder Taylor Wright is second on the club in average (.273) and hits (38). He leads Maryland in doubles (14) and is fourth in RBI (18) and runs scored (20).
Sophomore outfielder Randy Bednar is batting .269 and leads the team in hits (39), home runs (7), RBI (33) and runs scored (27).
The Terrapins have a team batting average of .237 and a team ERA of 5.06 through 25 games this season.
STRIKE ZONE
The Patriots scored all eight of their runs over the first three innings on the way to an 8-5 victory over Maryland on April 12, 2017 in the last meeting between the two teams.
Acker went 3-for-5 with a RBI and run scored, while Driscoll finished 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Every player in the Mason starting lineup reached base at least once in the game.
Ryan Ricci struck out two batters over two scoreless innings of work to earn the win for the Patriots.
